St. Joe Softball Code of Conduct for Players, Parents and Coaches

Abusive language or disrespect to coaches, players or umpires will absolutely not be tolerated.

Parents will encourage all players from both teams.

At no time will a player be late or miss a scheduled practice or game without first talking with their coach.

Players will not play in games or receive their uniform until all fees are paid.

All players will warm up together.  Players must remain in the dugout area during games, no food allowed!  Parents will refrain from entering the dugout area.

All players, parents and coaches must control their emotions at all times.  Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated, you will be asked to leave.

Team spirit must be maintained by every player.  All remarks to teammates must be positive.

The way you practice is the way you will play games.  Always hustle.  Never say “I can’t”, always say “I’ll try”.

Coaches and officials are to be respected at all times.  Cheer your child on, but do not shout instructions.
Coaches are willing to discuss your child, but always in private.

We are here to instruct.  Players are here to learn, and should  expect criticism, it is your best teacher.

Teaching does not stop when the game begins, the diamond is our classroom.  Our focus is that the girls have fun and learn to play the game the right way.

Rules state only the head coach may address the umpire.  Do not say anything to the umpire.

Please arrive at practice and games on time.  This allows the players ample time to stretch and warm up.

Players must report all injuries to their coach immediately.

Players must listen to and obey the coach’s instructions.

No cell phones in dugout or on playing field.

If you do not receive a text from coach, the game is still on, please show up even if it is raining!
